Calling a Decision Maker

Once you get someone on the phone, introduce yourself by giving your name, grade, and school.  Ask if your contact person has time to talk.  Give general information about yourself.  See if he or she has any questions.  Once your contact knows what you're talking about, get to the point!  Do you want their support, a donation, or a new school policy?  Try to set up a face-to-face meeting with your decision maker to discuss your project in more detail.

And be sure to say thank you at the end of the call!
