Students Taking ChargePowered by Action for Healthy Kids

Letter to Your Administrator

This letter shows how to make it happen!

Start with an introduction that thanks your administrator for how he or she has already supported a healthy school environment.  Next, state the problem.  In this letter, the students share their findings that many of their classmates do not have time for a healthy breakfast.  Then, offer a solution like starting a Grab-and-Go breakfast for students.  Know the benefits that your administrator would be most interested in hearing about.  Explain, in simple terms, how the program would work and how your Students Taking Charge group can help to make it happen.  Finally, ask your administrator to meet with 2-3 members of your group and other key people in the school like the Cafeteria Manager, the Health Teacher, or others.

Now design your own letter using this easy framework!
