Students Taking ChargePowered by Action for Healthy Kids

Facilitator’s PDF

The Students Taking Charge facilitator’s guide takes you through a variety of activities to help students find their voice, investigate the school, plan for improvement, and mobilize for action.  These activities encourage participatory learning, decision making, critical and creative thinking, cooperative learning, leadership, and communication skills.  Although the immediate benefit will be to your school’s health environment, these lessons will have lifelong benefits for students as they learn the real world application of classroom lessons in math, language arts, science, and civics.

The facilitator’s guide and website make it easy for students to take charge in your school. Throughout the guide, there are icons to provide you with discussion topics, activities, and examples from other Students Taking Charge groups across the country.  The program is designed to be presented through classroom activities, workshops, or in a series of meetings with your SADD, FCCLA, National Honor Society, or other student group.

You can view the guide on the website, print it out for use at your school, or order full color printed versions of the guide from Action for Healthy Kids.
